2009 Dates for your diary:

Nets Practice:

Hi chaps,  have spoken to the nice lady at Kent Cricket Club about the use of their indoor nets we're booked in for the 5th and the 19th of April between 5.30 and 7pm (both are Sundays).

Last year there was a fairly poor turn out on one or two occasions so let's all try and make it there if we can. If there's not enough people to cover the cost of the hire then the club has to pay out which is baaaad! The cost's darn cheap to you so there's no excuses for not being there!

Price is £3 for Adults and £2 for Juniors & Students per session, but only if there are plenty of people in attendance.

Pre-season Ground Maintenance:

There are 2 weekends mooted for maintenance days. Saturday and Sunday 4th & 5th April, and Saturday and Sunday 18th & 19th April. Times and duties to be confirmed by Chief Groundsman - Kevin Deveson.

A.G.M:

This year's Annual General Meeting took place on Sunday 8th February at Woodnesborough Football Club, at which there were a number of changes in the committee. Retiring from their positions are Chairman Kevin Deveson and Captain Saturday - Chris Adam Reynolds. Eastry Cricket Club would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their hard work over the years and helping to make the club what it has become today. We welcome Dave Waring to the position of Chairman, with Matt Bradshaw in support as his Vice-Chairman and we wish them well in continuing from where Kevin left off.

Also stepping up is Graham Phebey, taking over as Captain Saturday with James Kenton in support as his Vice Captain and Aaron Friend has taken over as Vice Captain for the Sunday team and we wish them good luck in their new posts.

Annual Dinner:

This will take place at Eastry Village Hall on Saturday 21st March 2009. It will cost £17.50 per head which includes a 3 course meal. Please bring your own drinks as there is no bar available.

Could last year's prize winners please return your trophies to the Captains at least a week before the dinner.

More info will be emailed out to you all in due course.

2009 Annual Membership Fees:

Membership fees for the 2009 season are now due and must be paid by 31st May 2009. Membership costs £30 for adults and £15 for juniors and students.

The benefits of membership include:

• Reduced match fees
• Club Insurance
• Preference over non-members for over-subscribed matches
• E-mail updates of club news and events.

Please print out the Membership Form and return it with payment to Graham Phebey(Captain Saturday Team), Mike Green (Captain Sunday Team) or Roger Hill (Treasurer). Cheques may be made payable to Eastry Cricket Club. Contact me if you would like to send payment through the post.

If you do not pay your membership by the 31st May you will have to pay the non member's match fee rate.
