The A.G.M. 2008The AGM was held on Sunday 9th March. Important news from this is that we have a new Treasurer, a new fixture secretary and a new youth representative. Roger Hill, James Piper and Matt Deveson have been voted into those post respectively. Thanks go to Jim Senior and Andy Pearce who have given 10 years of hard work and dedication to the club as Treasurer and Fixture secretary and we wish Roger, James and Matt good luck in their new roles. And the 2008 season is GO...
Well, that's the end of the long, cold winter. Now we are at the beginning of the long (and hopefully dry) summer season of cricket. You'll notice a lot of home fixtures, especially on Saturdays - this is due to increased demands of local leagues meaning that there are less clubs available to play at their own grounds. Due to this, there will be an increased pressure for us to get Updown looking spick and span each week. The Chairman is about to publish a rota for ground work - all we ask is that ECC members and regulars give assistance in general groundsman duties - mowing, rolling, rabbit-hole filling and tidying around the pavillion etc. The rota will be fair, with 4 teams doing their share once per month in rotation. More info will be here soon. We also ask that you arrive to home matches at least half an hour in advance to help prepare the ground for the match. More info...
